Welcome to the Official P3M3™ Website
The Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management Maturity Model (P3M3) has become a key standard amongst maturity models, providing a framework with which organisations can assess their current performance and put in place improvement plans.
As organisations strive to identify and leverage competitive and performance advantage from improved efficiency and delivery, the importance of management models on which to assess this performance and identify opportunities for improvement has increased.
The new, updated second version of the Office of Government Commerce's Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management Maturity Model (P3M3) was released in June 2008. The first version was released in early 2006 and was developed as an enhancement to the Project Management Maturity Model.
The new version takes advantage of the maturing knowledge about Programme Management and the evolving recognition and definition of Portfolio Management across a number of industry sectors, and seeks to provide organisations with a toolkit to assess their current performance and put in place improvement plans that have measurable outcomes based on industry best practice.
Feedback
The current version of the P3M3 model and the self assessment questionnaire are public consultation drafts. Comments on the model should be sent to P3M3model@ogc.gsi.gov.uk and comments on the self assessment should be sent to P3M3assessment@ogc.gsi.gov.uk.
The OGC is also seeking to compile evidence for the use of the self assessment. Such feedback should be addressed to P3M3assessment@ogc.gsi.gov.uk.
